Welcome to ParcelPledge. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the ParcelPledge mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Platform").

By creating an account, accessing, or using ParcelPledge, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

1. About ParcelPledge

ParcelPledge is a peer-to-peer platform that helps connect:

• users who are traveling and are willing to carry parcels; and
• users who wish to send parcels.

ParcelPledge acts only as a facilitator of introductions and communication between users. ParcelPledge does not operate as a courier, transport company, freight forwarder, logistics company, or payment processor.

ParcelPledge does not take possession, control, ownership, or responsibility for parcels transported through arrangements made between users.

2. Eligibility

To use ParcelPledge, you must:

• be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction;
• have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement; and
• provide accurate and complete registration information.

By using the Platform, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.

3. User Accounts

You may need to create an account to use certain features of the Platform. You agree to:

• provide truthful, current, and complete information;
• keep your login credentials secure;
• promptly update your account information if it changes; and
• accept responsibility for all activity under your account.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that contain false information, impersonate another person, or violate these Terms.

4. Verification and User Information

As part of using the Platform, we may request or collect certain user information, including a profile photo or selfie, email address, WhatsApp number, and other identifying or contact details.

We may use this information to support account creation, user verification, communication, safety, fraud prevention, and platform operations. Collection and use of personal information is described further in our Privacy Policy.

Submission of a photo or selfie does not mean ParcelPledge guarantees a user's identity, trustworthiness, reliability, or conduct.

5. Nature of the Service

ParcelPledge provides a platform for users to list trips, post parcel requests, discover matching opportunities, and communicate with each other.

ParcelPledge is not a party to any agreement, arrangement, transaction, delivery, transport, handover, customs declaration, insurance arrangement, or dispute between users.

All arrangements between users, including pickup, delivery, packaging, timing, compensation, reimbursement, proof of delivery, customs compliance, and liability, are solely between those users.

6. No Ownership or Responsibility for Parcels

ParcelPledge does not:

• own, hold, receive, ship, carry, store, inspect, or deliver parcels;
• verify the condition, legality, ownership, value, packaging, or contents of parcels;
• guarantee that a traveler will deliver a parcel;
• guarantee that a sender will accurately describe a parcel;
• guarantee the identity, conduct, honesty, or performance of any user; or
• guarantee the legality of any parcel, route, or transaction.

Users are solely responsible for ensuring that any item exchanged or transported is lawful and permitted under all applicable local, national, and international laws.

7. Prohibited Items and Activities

You may not use ParcelPledge to request, offer, post, carry, send, or arrange transport for any illegal, dangerous, or prohibited items, including but not limited to:

• stolen goods;
• weapons or ammunition;
• illegal drugs or controlled substances;
• hazardous, flammable, or explosive materials;
• counterfeit goods;
• live animals, where prohibited;
• human remains or body parts;
• items that violate customs, aviation, postal, import, or export laws;
• items obtained through fraud or crime; or
• any other items prohibited by applicable law or our policies.

You also agree not to:

• use the Platform for unlawful, fraudulent, or misleading purposes;
• impersonate another person;
• provide false parcel, trip, identity, or contact information;
• harass, threaten, abuse, or scam other users;
• circumvent restrictions, suspensions, or platform safety measures;
• scrape, reverse engineer, or interfere with the Platform; or
• use the Platform in a way that may damage ParcelPledge's reputation or operations.

We reserve the right to remove listings, restrict activity, or suspend accounts suspected of violating this section.

8. User Responsibility for Compliance

Users are solely responsible for:

• checking the legality of any parcel and route;
• complying with transport, airline, road, customs, import/export, and border laws;
• ensuring proper packaging and labeling;
• making their own decisions before handing over or accepting a parcel;
• verifying the other party to their satisfaction; and
• obtaining any insurance they may require.

ParcelPledge does not provide customs, legal, insurance, courier, or transportation advice.

9. Communications Between Users

The Platform may enable messaging, email, WhatsApp communication, and push notifications to help users connect and receive updates.

By using ParcelPledge, you consent to receiving service-related communications from us, including account notices, security alerts, trip or parcel updates, and other operational messages.

ParcelPledge is not responsible for the content, accuracy, promises, agreements, or conduct of users in communications that take place on or off the Platform.

10. Location Data

ParcelPledge may use device location data to support functionality such as trip posting, route matching, nearby opportunities, and safety or service improvements.

You understand and agree that location-based features may require access to your phone's location services. You can manage certain permissions through your device settings, but disabling them may limit Platform functionality.

11. No Guarantee of Matches or Outcomes

ParcelPledge does not guarantee:

• that you will find a traveler or sender;
• that any listing will result in a successful arrangement;
• that any parcel will be delivered;
• that users will respond, behave appropriately, or honor their agreements; or
• that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or always available.

12. Ratings, Reports, and Safety Measures

ParcelPledge may allow users to report misconduct, suspicious activity, or problematic interactions. We may investigate reports and take action in our sole discretion, including warning users, removing content, suspending accounts, or cooperating with law enforcement where legally required.

Any safety measures we provide are intended to reduce risk, not eliminate it. Users remain responsible for exercising caution and judgment.

13. Fees

At present, ParcelPledge does not process payments and does not take payment on behalf of users unless stated otherwise in the future.

If ParcelPledge introduces paid features, service fees, subscriptions, or transaction tools in the future, we will update these Terms and provide appropriate notice where required.

14. Third-Party Services

The Platform may rely on or integrate with third-party services such as email, WhatsApp, mobile operating systems, mapping tools, push notification services, analytics providers, or cloud hosting providers.

ParcelPledge is not responsible for third-party services and their availability, accuracy, or acts or omissions. Your use of those services may also be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

15. Intellectual Property

All rights, title, and interest in and to ParcelPledge, including its name, branding, software, content, designs, features, and underlying technology, are owned by ParcelPledge or its licensors.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Platform for its intended personal or internal business purpose, subject to these Terms.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse engineer, or exploit any part of the Platform except as permitted by law or with our written permission.

16. User Content

You may submit content to the Platform, such as profile information, trip listings, parcel descriptions, messages, and images ("User Content").

You retain ownership of your User Content. However, by submitting it, you grant ParcelPledge a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, host, store, reproduce, adapt, display, and distribute that content as necessary to operate, improve, promote, secure, and provide the Platform.

You are responsible for ensuring that your User Content is lawful, accurate, and does not infringe the rights of others.

17. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

ParcelPledge disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, availability, accuracy, and reliability.

In particular, ParcelPledge does not warrant or guarantee:

• the identity, trustworthiness, conduct, or performance of any user;
• the safety, legality, quality, condition, or delivery of any parcel;
• the truthfulness of any listing or communication;
• the success of any arrangement between users; or
• uninterrupted or error-free operation of the Platform.

18. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ParcelPledge and its founders, owners, officers, employees, contractors, affiliates, and partners shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, business, data, goodwill, parcels, or opportunities arising out of or related to:

• your use of or inability to use the Platform;
• parcel loss, theft, delay, non-delivery, damage, seizure, confiscation, or destruction;
• disputes or misconduct between users;
• reliance on any user information, listing, communication, or arrangement;
• unauthorized access to your account or data; or
• errors, interruptions, or unavailability of the Platform.

To the extent liability cannot be excluded, ParcelPledge's total liability to you shall be limited to the greater of:

• the amount you paid to ParcelPledge in the 12 months before the claim; or
• [insert minimum amount, e.g. USD 50 or local-currency equivalent].

19. Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless ParcelPledge and its affiliates, officers, employees, contractors, and agents from and against any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to:

• your use of the Platform;
• your parcels, listings, trips, messages, or arrangements;
• your breach of these Terms;
• your violation of any law or rights of another person; or
• any dispute between you and another user.

20. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to the Platform at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms, created risk, acted unlawfully, or harmed other users or the Platform.

You may stop using the Platform at any time.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect, including sections relating to liability, indemnity, intellectual property, disputes, and disclaimers.

21. Changes to the Platform or Terms

We may modify these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we may notify users through the app, website, email, or other reasonable means.

Your continued use of the Platform after the updated Terms take effect means you accept the revised Terms.

22. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of [Insert Country/Jurisdiction], without regard to conflict of law principles.

23. Dispute Resolution

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the use of the Platform shall first be attempted to be resolved informally by contacting us.
